2006 Year in
Review........

March 19 |
2006 got off to bang with
hefty weights in the
first of four OPEN Bass Tournaments. Winning with a weight of
19.74 was Mike Taylor and Larry Noel.

April 22 |
The
weather was great, but the fishing was tough. In fact, only 8 bass
were brought to the scales. The team of Matt Boehman and Gary
Hedges found only a couple, but they were enough to top the field....(full results) |

May 13 |
At
Spring Pastor Appreciation Day, the team of David Hargrove and Bobby Reno
bested the field of 10 anglers with a 14.8 sack of largemouth.

May 27 |
Like
the first club tournament, the weather was good, but the fishing was slow.
Erin Eagleson and Dave Johnson scratched out three keepers to take home the
top honor.

June
18 |
For the
4th year in a row, the
Lord has blessed the FOCAS Kids Fishing Derby with a beautiful day of fun,
fishing, and fellowship. Everyone went home with something
nice...

WOW!!!
The fish were biting for several anglers, but none more than Fred Montgomery
and Jim Bayes.

July 28 |
The
first Club Night Tournament of year was suspended at 9:30pm due to a
dangerous storms and severe winds. (rescheduled 9/15) |

August 11 |
Although
anglers got off to a wet start, the
club night tournament did end with star-packed skies. Ted Martin and Jason Taylor
pulled out a last minute limit to take top honors.

26 |
Mike Taylor captured his second FOCAS
OPEN Buddy Tournament of the Year, but with a new partner this time.
Billy Palmer helped Mike to a first place finish topping the field with a 5
fish limit weighing 15.27 pounds.

September 9 |
After
three years of trying, the Cadiz Baptist team of Bruce Higbee and
Kevin Roberts topped the field of 8 anglers with two bass weighing in at
6.19 pounds.

September 15 |
Although the weather was pretty much
picture perfect for the middle of September, the fish were tough to catch. James
Shelton and Geoff Baggett registered their first FOCAS victory of the season
with 3 fish weighing 7 pounds.

September 30 |
The Fall OPEN Bass Tournament
proved to be a tough bite for most anglers, but Marlon Francis and Brent
Stewart had a limit that topped the scales at 13.8 lbs.

October 7 |
Gary Polete
and Steve Kelly ended the season in the winners
circle for the first time this season. The team took first place,
as well as big bass.

November 11 |
The 2006 Season came to a
close with a Fish Fry held on Saturday, November 11th at the Liberty Point
Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
